Location:
Beaver Lake is situated within the expansive Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park east of Hwy 507, which is located in the Kawartha Lakes region of central Ontario. The park covers a vast area of over 37,000 hectares and is known for its rugged landscapes, pristine lakes, and diverse wildlife. Beaver lake is connected to Gold Lake to the south and Catchacoma Lake to the west. A public boat launch is located at the second bridge along Beaver Lake Road.
Size and Features:
Beaver Lake is one of the many lakes within Kawartha Highlands Provincial Park. It spans approximately 6 kilometers in length and covers an area of about 1,000 hectares. The perimeter of the lake is 10.7 km (6.7 miles). The lake features clear waters, rocky shorelines, and secluded bays, offering a tranquil and natural setting.
Water levels are regulated by means of a dam on the south end of Mississauga Lake. A draw down occurs in the fall. Care should be taken when venturing into the narrows connecting to Gold and Catchacoma Lakes. The lake reaches maximum depths of 60 feet, the average depth is 21 feet. .
